Dubrovnik Early Bird Walking Tour

Join us on a early morning stroll, when the city is half-empty and you will have the streets to yourself, guided by one of our amazing tour guides who’ll reveal new sides of Dubrovnik to you.
Our early bird tour takes you around Dubrovnik’s old town without the crowds, early in the morning.

Dubrovnik became very popular over the last few years and it is almost impossible to see the real beauty of our city during the summer months. The reason why you should join us on this tour is to get the real feeling of this city.

Let us use the first light of the sun for a tour in the old town. We will walk through the maze of narrow streets while the town is still sleeping and you will experience real Dubrovnik without the usual crowds. 8 am is the time when all the restaurants are still closed and you can see how the town is preparing for the day to come.

We start walking over the shiny main street that you can only see empty early in the morning and get the real feel of its beauty. By using hidden corners you will explore history, legends and curiosities. On our walk you will see all main monuments and have an introduction for your stay in Dubrovnik that will help you to plan your days and take the best out of it.

Inside the Old town of Dubrovnik you will explore following locations:
Old Town – stone, shiny streets
Stradun – the main street of Dubrovnik
St. Saviour Church – beautiful 16th century church, one of a few original sights in the old town
Church of Saint Blaise – Dubrovnik’s patron saint is St Blaise
Orlando Column – covered for protection, he’s more than 600 years old
Farmer’s market
Besides those monumental locations our guides will give you insight to more locations beyond this list.

At the end of the tour, once we’re done exploring all sights of our Dubrovnik Early Bird Walking Tour, we’ll depart at Old town and leave you to explore the city streets.

Combo Tour: History and Game of Thrones

Join us on a tour that combines best parts of the most popular TV show on the planet – Game of Thrones, and stories of old Ragusa. Did you know that parts of our long history inspired George R. R. Martin to incorporate them into his bestselling books?

On our walking tour, Dubrovnik’s history meets Game of Thrones. It is ideal for couples, families, or a group of friends of which some have seen GoT, while others haven’t, so this combination provides a combination best of both worlds.

Fort Lovrijenac is situated on a cliff top and there are some stairs to be taken to the top, but once you’re there, it is worth the walk. In the gallery you may see some photos of the view from Lovrijenac castle. The walk to the top is not hasty and you will most definitely not be rushed by the tour guide. At the entrance we cover the ticket expense. Below Lovrijenac there is Pile Bay which was Blackwater Bay Battle location with many exciting scenes.

Walking through the old town we will show you all filming locations starting from Pile Gate with the highlight – Walk of Shame. You’ll discover Dubrovnik was used for another big filming just recently.

City Walls Walking Tour

Today, they are a reminder of some distant medieval times. Luckily, we managed to preserve our city walls in the times when trends were changing, suggesting that any types of fortifications are obsolete and redundant. This is why Dubrovnik is today amongst the best preserved medieval cities in the world. Our walls surround the town for almost 2 km in length and once you are on them, the view is simply breathtaking. Terracotta roofs and narrow streets are all visible from above, clear vista over the Adriatic sea reveals just about any boat on the horizon, which gives a perfect explanation to why the city was successfully defended for centuries. Since 1979, Dubrovnik is under UNESCO protection.

The town survived many wars, including the recent Homeland war from 1991-1995, but Dubrovnik was renewed in a manner that the damage is not visible at all and it is difficult to imagine that not such a long time ago this ancient Mediterranean town was covered in rubble. If you were wondering, once you’re in Dubrovnik, what you should see first once there, it is definitely the city walls, our most recognised landmark, inspiration to many artists, the centre of all photographs taken in Dubrovnik.

The magnificent city walls that surround our old town are a statement of wealth and safety. For centuries, they were a protection from perils, pirates, foreign conquerors. Today, they are a reminder of some distant medieval times. Luckily, we managed to preserve our city walls in the times when trends were changing, suggesting that any types of fortifications are obsolete and redundant. This is why Dubrovnik is today amongst the best preserved medieval cities in the world.

King’s Landing and The Iron Throne

Dubrovnik was not only King’s Landing, it was also posing as City of Quarth, the greatest city that ever was or will be. Lush green gardens that belong to Lokrum island were a part of the scenery as well. Just 5 minutes from Lokrum harbor, a delight for all Game of Thrones fans lies – the Iron Throne, and you definitely don’t want to miss out on your chance to get a photo of you sitting on it! Besides memorable Khaleesi scenes, Lokrum has lovely natural beaches, several restaurants, peacocks and bunnies walking freely amongst tourist and the island itself offers many opportunities for relaxing, which all combined with Game of Trones scenes make the island a desirable location to spend the day.

Dubrovnik is exactly what George Martin had in mind when he was writing his captivating series of books and making the perfect setting for his imaginary world.
Our tour includes locations of Old Town, Lovrijenac (Red Keep) and Lokrum (Qarth). Island of Lokrum was turned into Game of Thrones visitor center where every true fan wants to be at because there is the Iron Throne, a gift given to Dubrovnik by HBO. The island is Dubrovnik’s green jewel where many locals seek relaxation after long working hours in the summertime. Peacocks and bunnies are the only island’s residents and they are very friendly.

The tour consists of two parts. Initially we explore the scenes taken at the old town and in its vicinity, including Lovrijenac fort. Those are some of the most impacting, plot-twisting moments in Game of Thrones. Afterwards, we visit Lokrum island which was City of Qarth.
Tickets to Lovrijenac – Red Keep (50 kn per person) and Lokrum – City of Qarth (200 kn per person) are extra. When we’ll be on our way to Lokrum, we’ll take the official island’s ferry and the ticket is valid in both directions – to and from Lokrum. The tour finishes on the island and you can decide on your own what to do – to immediately return to the old town or spend the rest of the day on Lokrum. If you choose the latter, make sure to bring along your swimming gear, a towel and some sunscreen. There are rocky and cliffy beaches on the island, two restaurants, a snack bar and plenty of options on how to spend your leisure time. Just have in mind that all visitors must leave the island untill the last ferry leaves – overnight stays are not allowed since the island is a nature protected forest reserve.

Itinerary:
1. Amerling fountain, Brsalje square:
Our first stop is the meeting place. We commence at 10 am from Amerling fountain, location is Brsalje 2, next to Dubravka gift shop, outside of the old town walls, contact us if you need help with finding the location or if you have questions about transportation from your accommodation. You’ll recognise our guide by a blue umbrella, we added to the photo section exactly what the umbrella looks like. The guide will check your reservation there and give you an outline of the day – introduce himself (herself) and describe briefly places to be visited during this tour. There is entrance fee to be covered extra – Lovrijenac fort (50 kunas). After everyone assigned for the tour came, the day full of beautiful sights may begin!

2. Fort Lovrijenac – Amazing Red Keep
(Tickets not included).

3. Old Town
Walking through the old town we will show you all filming locations starting from Pile Gate with the highlight – Walk of Shame. You’ll discover Dubrovnik was used for another big filming just recently.

4. Lokrum Island Botanical Gardens
We get to Lokrum by ferry, it takes about 15 minutes in one direction by boat. Amazing, lush, supreme Lokrum island which was serving as City of Qarth in Game of Thrones. For every GOT fan the absolute highlight is hidden on that little island – the Iron Throne, where you will make unforgettable pictures as The Ruler of The 7 Kingdoms.

5. Final stop of the tour
We finish the tour on Lokrum island where you can spend the rest of the day. In the summertime, it’s an ideal spot for swimming and sunbathing, so you can take your swimming gear with you.

Dubrovnik Old City By Night and Panoramic Drive Tour

Dubrovnik is much more than just the old town. In the days when it was unsafe to live outside of the city walls, old Ragusa had a task to provide shelter to all the people living within the old town premises. Times changed, modern era was around the corner and old city fortifications became a nice decoration to everyday life.

For this evening tour we’ll pick you up for the panoramic drive from Brsalje 2 – Amerling fountain, and then after the drive, we will drop you off at the same place where we picked you up so you can continue with the walking tour, which finishes in the old town. The second part of our tour starts at Amerling fountain, outside of the old town walls, close to Dubravka gift shop and Dubravka restaurant. Our guide will have a blue umbrella as a sign of recognition. Once the group is all set, the tour shall commence and the guide will take you on a stroll down the old town streets.

The most beautiful and spectacular scenic view of Dubrovnik is from Mt Srdj, there you can enjoy the view or take memorable photos of your vacation. From this point you can overview this Renaissance gem of Adriatic. The peak of Mt Srdj is 415 meters (around 1200 feet).

Inside the Old town of Dubrovnik you will explore Pile Gate, Stradun – main street, Luza Square, Rector’s Palace, Dubrovnik Cathedral, Monument of Poet Ivan Gundulic and the Prijeko Street, among others.
