Delhi Food Walk
Delhi isn’t just the political capital of India; it’s also the culinary capital and is known throughout the country for its delicious food and drink. Join the locals in the streets of Delhi’s Kamla Nagar neighbourhood as you sample different Indian snacks and visit some of the area’s most popular food spots.
The tour starts with a trip by rickshaw, one of the most colourful methods of transport, as you pass through the city's university district, stopping at an ancient temple of Hanuman, the monkey god. After visiting the temple, we head out to our first food stop and watch fresh shawarma being made. From here, we’ll continue on to a popular neighbourhood eatery. Here, you can enjoy a local favourite – momos (Tibetan dumplings), washed down with fresh fruit beer and banta, a delicious and refreshing citrus drink. We'll then continue through the Kamla Market and head for a narrow alley full of delectable street-food joints. Then it's time to stroll on through the colourful market where you'll be dazzled by the variety of goods for sale. We’ll try some crispy potatoes and stop for the best home-made ice cream in Delhi. A little more walking through the bustling streets of Delhi will lead us to our final stop – a sweet shop, where we’ll have the opportunity to try some traditional Indian sweetmeats.
This delectable Delhi food tour will leave you wanting to come back for more long after you leave this enigmatic city. This afternoon tour leaves every day at 16:00 from Vishwidhalaya Metro Station and includes English speaking tour guide, rickshaw ride and food as indicated.

Dress standards are conservative throughout Asia, especially outside major cities. To respect this and for your own comfort, we strongly recommend modest clothing. This means clothing that covers your shoulders and knees. Loose, lightweight, long clothing is both respectful and cool in the predominantly hot Asian climate.

Old or New Delhi by bike
You are invited to become a part of the unique mix of colours, smells, sounds, tastes and unforgettable images. Take the tour and experience the city of Delhi with all your senses. The Delhi By Cycle is one of the wonderful experience to explore the streets of Delhi. With five fascinating routes - three in Old Delhi and two in New Delhi, covering the most interesting, intense, historical and beautiful areas of Old and New Delhi. Each of the tours is beautiful and interesting in its own way, with a unique focus, taking you to the hidden wonders of the city.
Raj tour (New Delhi)
The Raj tour is a truly breath-taking ride down Delhi’s more recent history. Starting from the narrow labyrinthine back-lanes of Old Delhi, passing through quaint old ‘socialist-style’ quarters of government employees and almost magically landing in the midst of a spectacular view of the Presidential Palace and India Gate encircled by spotless clean, tree-lined wide roads – the Raj Tour is a very stimulating and comprehensive catalogue of the lives of people who make this great capital today.
Nizamuddin tour (New Delh
i)
It's a high spiritual area named Nizamuddin, named after the famous Sufi saint. An urban village right in the heart of Delhi. On this tour we visit another urban village, Kotla Mubarak. Together with the magnificent Humayun's Tomb and beautiful Lodhi Garden the Nizamuddin tour reflects the periods when Delhi was ruled by the Sultans, Mughals and British and finally independency after the Partition in 1947.
The tour is 15 km long. We are proud to have partnered with the Nizamuddin settlement based NGO - Hope Project, for this tour. Hope supports the local community of Nizamuddin in health care and education.
Yamuna tour (Old Delhi)
The route is an ode to this river that has been a silent witness to Delhi’s history and is now a recurrent victim of its excesses. Starting from the little lanes of Shahjahanabad, while the city is still sleepy in its proverbial socks-passing along the magnificently formidable walls of the Red Fort we find ourselves on the meditative quiet banks of the Yamuna at Nigambodh Ghat. A boat-ride along its shores – migratory birds circling above the calm waters - unravels the ritualistic devotion with which the Hindus treat the historic river.
Haveli tour (Old Delhi)
What makes this tour special are ingredients like the rooftop visit with an astonishing view of Chandni Chowk (main street of Old Delhi), the Red Fort and to have breakfast in a beautiful Haveli after which the tour has been named. A complete experience of the Old Delhi street. The centuries old culture and diversity of the people is the most satisfying experience during this tour.
Shah Jahan tour (Old Delhi)
The Shah Jahan tour is our classic Old Delhi route, all highlights of Shahjahanabad are included and much more.
Emerging from this rainforest, thick with traditional architecture- typical of Shah Jahan’s time, you will find yourself in a Delhi of another time while you also see the Red Fort, Jama Masjid, the Spice Market and tranquil Civil Lines, the former British colonial area as a sharp contrast to hectic Old Delhi.

Please note: During the summer season (April-September), the Yamuna tour does not include the boat ride due to the water condition. The Yamuna tour will still include a stop at the riverbank and a visit to the nearby cow shelter.

Begin your Delhi delight with a drive along the area known as ‘Lutyens's Delhi’ after Edwin Lutyens, the architect who designed the city’s new monumental government district a century ago. See the grandiose Rashtrapati Bhawan, the 340-room palace built for the viceroys of India, which is now the residence of the president of India. Lutyens’s blend of classical and Mughal elements has resulted in a style known as the Delhi order. Continue along the Rajpath and see the India Gate, a triumphal arch designed by Lutyens to commemorate fallen soldiers. See also the vast, circular Indian parliament, which also bears the hallmark of Lutyens.
Leave Lutyens's Delhi and explore the old parts of New Delhi with a visit to the site of the 73 metre-high Qutab Minar, the tallest stone tower in India. Qutub-ud-din Aibak, the first sultan of Delhi, had it built in 1193 and razed 27 Hindu temples to use their columns. The attached Quwwat-ul-Islam Masjid, the first mosque in India, was also built by him. The tour ends with a visit to Humayun’s Tomb, the mausoleum of a Mughal emperor built from red sandstone and white marble. Dinner with an Indian family
"Atithi Devo Bhava" is an ancient Sanskrit saying which quite simply means "A guest is like as a God". It has become a part of the "Code of Conduct" for Indian society. It is a very pleasant relationship between the Host and the Guest.
We Begin with a brief introduction of the Guest with the Host family to make them feel comfortable in this new environment. Once the guests are settled, we serve them soft drinks followed by hot snacks.
The healthy interaction continues while savoring the different Indian delicacies. For the guests, live cooking demonstration is organized for Indian dishes and guests are also encouraged to join in/participate for hands-on cooking to try out themselves while being taught. This indeed becomes a very exciting experience for the guests. For all the demo dishes the recipes are provided to the guests. This is followed with Dinner which results in a scrumptious meal.
The interaction continues over a hot cup of Indian Masala Tea or Coffee. To sum it up, it make us feel very proud when the guests say good bye and express their happiness and satisfaction for being a part of this programme of “Visit to an Indian family”.
