The Tanah Lot Temple (also called ‘Pura Tanah Lot’ by the locals) translates to ‘Land in the Sea’ and is a sacred complex with origins in the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries. The wooden structure was built on a large coral rock that was once a part of the main island of Bali. However, due to erosion, the temple is now slightly separated from the main island. It is one of the seven sea temples built along the coast of Bali as well as an important pilgrimage site for Hindus.
“Great experience! Beautiful temple and grounds to explore and take in the various nooks and crannies. Special indeed.” – J, UK
Go on a guided tour with a friendly and knowledgeable guide who will help you explore one of the most sacred places in Bali. Learn about the significance of this holy temple for the locals, hear about the legends and myths of the temple and how it was built, and discover the best spot for photos, views, and more.
“Amazing place. Very scenic and a must-see if you are visiting Bali. The place is well maintained and would be good to visit during sunset. You can capture beautiful photos and enjoy the serenity.” – Krupa, India
