The Leopold Collection is one of the most important collections of modern Austrian art in the world. The more than 5,000 exhibits were collected by Rudolf and his wife Elisabeth Leopold over a period of five decades. In 1994, the Collection was consolidated by Rudolf Leopold with the assistance of the Republic of Austria and the Austrian National Bank into the Leopold Museum Private Foundation - a non-profit private foundation. The Leopold Museum is one of the most visited museums in Vienna and a highlight for every visitor to the city.

The Leopold Museum is a unique and active museum awash with light in the heart of Vienna and the biggest cultural magnet in the Museumsquartier. Besides exciting special exhibitions, it not only houses the most substantial and most important collection of Egon Schiele worldwide but also masterpieces by Gustav Klimt beyond price, like his probably most important figurative painting Death and Life. In no other museum in Vienna one can get so close to the fabled Fin de siècle Vienna and witness the birth of modernity. The collection shows how the art of the Habsburg Empire changed from strict Historicism and lovely Mood Impressionism within a few years to the worldwide unique Wiener Moderne which encompasses Klimt and Schiele as well as Oskar Kokoschka, Richard Gerstl, Koloman Moser and many other artists who are all well represented with major works at the Leopold Museum.

Hard Rock Cafe Vienna

Paying tribute to the classical music of the city, Hard Rock Cafe Vienna brings the brand’s one-of-a-kind blend of music, entertainment and authentic scratch-based cuisine to Vienna. Taking inspiration from classical architecture, the cafe combines old Vienna style with new modern metropolitan elements of the city.

Highlights
- Come to know just why Hard Rock Cafe finds itself in over 50 countries
- Step foot inside a dining experience with a difference as you set your eyes over exclusive rock memorabilia
- Choose from many menus and pick what suits your taste buds the best

Like all great revolutions, the Hard Rock Cafe wasn’t meant to succeed. It was 1971 and as the Swinging Sixties had given way to the Super Seventies, fashions and tastes were changing. Two hungry young Americans were in London and couldn’t find a decent place to eat a decent burger… so they opened up a joint in the English capital. Their landlord didn’t think it would last and gave them just a six-month lease. Four decades later, there almost 200 Hard Rock Cafes in more than 50 countries worldwide.

The first T-shirt hit the streets in ‘74 and the first piece of memorabilia came, fittingly, by chance in ‘79 when Eric Clapton asked to hang his Lead II Fender guitar over his favourite bar stool and thus mark as his spot. Today, the rock 'n' roll collection has more than 74,000 pieces and is the largest of its kind. By 1982, the Hard Rock Cafe had gone global and the rest, as they say, is history (that’s still being written)!

In 1991 the orchestra was appointed as the official representative of the City of Vienna for the celebration of the bicentenary of Mozart’s death and also performs regularly at the ‘Vienna International Festival’. The Orchestra now brings to life the popular Mozart and Strauss concerts day after day at the majestic Vienna Palais. A night listening to this superb orchestra will surely be the highlight of your trip to Vienna so be sure not to miss this memorable opportunity the sounds of which will reverberate in your mind for many years to come.
