Viennese Evening Boat Cruise

Cruise the blue Danube to the sound of traditional Viennese music while enjoying a delicious wine tavern buffet dinner. Take in a different perspective of Vienna and see the city light up at night. The tour also covers most of the Danube Canal, which arches south of the old town. This splendid evening tour has a bit of everything that Vienna is famous for: music, food, culture, sightseeing and relaxation.

With entertainment provided by the incomparable duo of Erich Zib and his daughter, Marion, you are guaranteed an old-world atmosphere. They are among the leading exponents of a genre called Wienerlied or Schrammelmusik, which has been immensely popular since the late 19th century and has become of the city’s defining symbols. The melodies are sung in the Viennese dialect and the music comes from accordions, double-necked contraguitars and fiddles.

Feast on a tavern-style buffet while the boat glides along the river and canal. Heurigen are traditional taverns that serve hearty Austrian cuisine and young white wines from the country. They are renowned not just for their fare but for the special atmosphere that characterises them, a uniquely Austrian sensation known as gemütlichkeit, a mix of comfort, cosiness and friendliness. This is more than a cruise on the blue Danube; it’s a nostalgic journey to the old Austria and the last days of the Habsburg Empire. The tour ends at the Schwedenplatz pier.

Vienna Woods and Mayerling Tour

Elope into the fairytale forests of the Vienna Woods for this morning tour and discover picture-postcard villages, visit the tragic Mayerling hunting lodge and explore magnificent monasteries.

Highlights
- Discover the equally enthralling sights and scenery outside Vienna city centre
- Pass through the beautiful spa town of Baden

This spellbinding excursion to the southern woods offers the perfect break from the hustle and bustle of the big city. Barely half an hour away from the capital, the Vienna Woods have for centuries offered a wonderful recreational space for the Viennese. Pass by the beautiful spa town of Baden, which dates from Roman times, whose thermal springs have brought it the prosperity that paid for so many beautiful buildings. Continue your adventure through the scenic Helenental valley past the ruins of a medieval castle and towards Mayerling.

The royal hunting lodge at Mayerling was the scene of a tragic end to an affair that would have dramatic consequences for the Habsburg Empire and the history of Europe. It was here that the married Crown Prince Rudolf and his young lover were found dead in 1889. The empire lost its heir and his replacement would be assassinated 25 years later, sparking World War I. Visit the memorial chapel dedicated to their memories.

Head to the stunning Heiligenkreuz Abbey and tour the medieval cloister, which houses the remains of the last Babenberger; the dynasty that ruled before the Habsburgs.

Vienna Mozart Concerts at Musikverein

An unmistakable Viennese sound resulting from its long-standing concert practice distinguishes the Vienna Mozart Orchestra as one of the most experienced Mozart’s interpreters of our time. The costumes and wigs worn by the musicians at the Vienna Mozart Concerts are valuable reproductions of formal dresses from the time of Mozart.

The composition of the program shows the musical exercise of “Musical academies“ from the late 18th century. Single movements from symphonies or solo concerts are performed together with best known and popular arias and duets. The venues of the Vienna Mozart Concerts are the very musical landmarks of Vienna and belong to the most prominent musical addresses of the world at large.

The Vienna Mozart Orchestra was found in 1986 by musicians from the best Viennese orchestras and chamber music ensembles. The work of in Salzburg born and in Vienna resident Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (Salzburg 1756 – Vienna 1791) constitutes the leitmotif for the 30 musicians. With the annually from April till October in Vienna occurring concert series “Vienna MOZART Concerts in period costumes” the orchestra ties up to the tradition of the 18th century as concerts were called “Musical Academies”.

Danube and Wachau Valley Tour

Experience the natural beauty of the Danube and Wachau valleys with this romantic day trip that takes in charming villages, steep vineyards, ruined castles, magnificent monasteries and during the summer months, a spectacular cruise along the great river itself. This is a tour that has it all: scenery, nature, culture, history and architecture.

Highlights
- Explore equally jaw dropping scenery outside of Vienna city centre
- Enjoy a lunch or cruise depending on the season
- See one of Austria’s most famous baroque buildings

Few rivers have inspired artists as much as the Danube, which was immortalised by Strauss’ waltz. As the river winds its way through central and south-eastern Europe, it creates valleys of breathtaking beauty; a landscape of steep banks laden with vineyards overlooked by hillside hamlets and castles.

See the tiny village of Durnstein and the admire the remnants of its once great castle, where Richard the Lionheart was held ransom on his way back to England to fight with Robin Hood (or so some legends say). The views over the Danube and the valley are spellbinding. During the summer season, hop aboard for a 90-minute cruise on the blue Danube and enjoy a new perspective of this picturesque valley.

The Wachau Valley is a Unesco World Heritage Site famed for its lush verdant landscapes and rustic towns but most of all for the quality of its wines, especially the young whites. At Melk, discover the beautiful Benedictine abbey, one of Austria’s most famous baroque buildings. Among its many truly outstanding attractions are the impossibly golden library, the fine frescos and the speckled spiral staircase. In winter, instead of the cruise, we enjoy a lunch.

Vienna Food, Coffee and Market Tour

We begin our Vienna tour on one of the most famous and attractive shopping streets in the city: The Graben.

Home of the court jeweller Heldwein and the famous porcelain factory of Augarten, the area is littered with imperial architecture, opulent coffee shops, and first-rate eateries. It would be rude of us not to offer you a coffee before getting started properly, so after our brief stroll we will stop for a quick coffee and a snack, but not at one of the famous cafes, because only tourists go there, instead we will head to one of the few cafes that locals still visit in the first, a proper and still functioning ‘Kulturcafe’.

To Nasch means ‘to nibble’ and that is exactly what one could do at the Naschmarkt, easily one of Europe’s best open-air markets. It is a mile long and showcases over 120 food stalls and some delectable restaurants that are cooking up some of the best food in the city. Here you will find the most diverse array of fruits, vegetables and delicacies that are available in Vienna from all over the world. While the Naschmarkt is a must-see, any local will tell you that they rarely pay it a visit, unless they fancy fighting out with tourists for the vendor’s attention. Instead every local has their own market that they like to visit, these may not be as big as the Naschmarkt, but they are certainly more lively and less touristy.

To that end, you will be whisked away from the Naschmarkt to a real ‘functioning’ Viennese market. Whether that be the trendy Brunnenmarkt in the 16th with its cafes and creative, the lively Viktor–Adler–Markt in the traditionally working-class 10th or even the peaceful farmers markt at Karmeliterplatz in the 2nd will depend on the day and the guide. But don’t be afraid to ask for directions to the others, there is never enough time in a day, let alone in a tour to visit everything! Irrelevant of the market, one thing we can promise is that there will be food.

Our guides will introduce you to some Viennese guilty pleasures, sweet and savoury and life on the streets that no guide book would ever mention. Pausing to take in Wurstelstand life offers you the chance to taste Austrian’s favourite dish (Hint: it’s not schnitzel) while grabbing a cheeky beer or spritzer (soft drinks are available) will help you rehydrate after the buzz of the markets. All along the way we will sink into the famed Viennese coffee culture. Coffeehouses have played a very important role in shaping the culture of the city over the centuries, with the first cup being brewed all the way back in 1683. The Austrian Inventory of Cultural Heritage describes the coffeehouses as places “where time and space are consumed, but only the coffee is found on the bill.”

Our introduction to Vienna’s food and drink scene ends back in the city centre, in front of the Opera house, the perfect springboard location to head off to any number of recommendations our guides will give you. Or you may simply wish to retreat for a cheeky nap back at your hotel, if so your guide can help you with directions.

Exclusive After Hours Schönbrunn Palace Tour, Dinner and Concert

Discover Vienna’s majestic Schönbrunn Palace as you soak up the very best of Austrian culture with a tour of the Palace, a sumptuous dinner and a classical concert showcasing the best of Mozart and Strauss. Experience an unforgettable evening that allows you to go back in time to the golden age of the Austro-Hungarian Empire

Highlights
- Exclusive tour of Schönbrunn Palace after opening hours
- Attend a classical concert in the unique setting of the Orangery and be amazed by the attractive lightshow during the concert
- Enjoy a delicious 3-course dinner

Explore the majestic Schönbrunn Palace after hours, one of Vienna’s most important cultural monuments and a truly spectacular royal residence.

We offer the palace tour exclusively after the regular opening hours of the palace for both individuals and groups. Individual guests visit the private chambers and ceremonial rooms of the palace using their smartphones as an audioguide. For groups of 20 or more people, an exclusive guided tour by one of the Palace's guides is available.

Enjoy a prestigious afternoon in one of the most stunning locations in the whole of Vienna, as you walk in the footsteps of the former monarchs of the Habsburg Dynasty. It´s amazing to think that this impressive palace was a wedding gift and was used as a summer residence by Empress Maria Theresa, and the longest-reigning emperor of Austria, Franz Joseph, I spent most of his days here on the sprawling grounds.

Dinner
The dinner takes place at 6:30pm in a selected restaurant close to Schönbrunn Palace (drinks not included during dinner).
After the 3-course dinner, the chauffeur brings the visitors to the Orangery to enjoy the highlight of the evening: the Schoenbrunn Palace Concerts.

Concert at Schönbrunn Palace Orangery
Frequently the venue for lavish festivities during the Habsburgs’ rule featuring performances from Mozart, the setting has been beautifully restored to its former glory. Today, the Orangery provides the perfect setting for classical concerts and has become an integral part of Vienna's cultural and musical life.

Travel back in time as you listen to the soothing classical sounds of Strauss and Mozart in the most unique and perfect setting and be swept away by the magic of the angelic voices and serenity of the ballet dancers.

On selected days, concerts may take place in the Great Gallery or the White Gold Room located inside Schönbrunn Palace, at the Schönbrunn Palace Theater, or in other concert halls in Vienna.
