Hard Rock Cafe Prague

It takes some doing but the Hard Rock Cafe Prague is a contender for the title of both the most attractive building in Prague and the most beautiful Hard Rock Cafe in the world. Enjoy delicious American fare in the Renaissance-style V.J. Rott House while admiring a dazzling rock memorabilia collection that includes a black faux fur vest worn by Jimi Hendrix, a signed keyboard used by Depeche Mode and a tuxedo tail coat, top hat and cane worn by Madonna during her 1985 Virgin Tour, among other items. Get VIP priority seating, skip the long lines and feel like a rock star!

Highlights
- Come to know just why Hard Rock Cafe finds itself in over 50 countries
- Step foot inside a dining experience with a difference as you set your eyes over exclusive rock memorabilia
- Choose from many menus and pick what suits your taste buds the best

Like all great revolutions, the Hard Rock Cafe wasn’t meant to succeed. It was 1971 and as the Swinging Sixties had given way to the Super Seventies, fashions and tastes were changing. Two hungry young Americans were in London and couldn’t find a decent place to eat a decent burger… so they opened up a joint in the English capital. Their landlord didn’t think it would last and only gave them a six-month lease. Four decades later, there are almost 200 Hard Rock Cafes in more than 50 countries worldwide.

The first T-shirt hit the streets in ‘74 and the first piece of memorabilia came, fittingly, by chance in ‘79 when Eric Clapton asked to hang his Lead II Fender guitar over his favourite bar stool and thus marked it as his spot. Today, the rock 'n' roll collection has more than 74,000 pieces and is the largest of its kind. By 1982, the Hard Rock Cafe had gone global and the rest, as they say, is history (that’s still being written).

Jewish Prague walking tour

Walk through a thousand years of history with this fascinating trip into Prague’s Jewish past. Few cities can boast a richer Jewish culture than beautiful Prague, which a vibrant community of Jews have made their home for a millennium.

During this walking tour you will see the only Central European Jewish Quarter that survived the holocaust, and discover the triumphs and tragedies of this remarkable and resilient community.

Wander through Josefov, the Jewish Quarter, encountering traditions, customs and stories at every turn. See the oldest preserved synagogue in Europe, which some say holds the bones of the Golem, a mythical monster made of clay brought to life. The Old New Synagogue is one of six in the quarter, each holding priceless Torah scrolls and beautifully decorated by skilled craftsmen. Continue exploring the ghetto to discover the Kafka monument and the Jewish Town Hall with its quaint little tower.

Visit the oldest Jewish cemetery in Europe, dating back to the 15th century when it was in use for 300 years. Here the huge demand for graves meant that people were buried twelve deep in places. As you explore this lively and beautiful part of the city, you’ll also learn about the persecution of the Jews, the horror of the Pogroms, and the tragic fate of the thousands of Czech Jews who were taken to the concentration camp at Theresienstadt, never to return. Rich in memories and both sombre and joyful in turn, the Jewish Quarter tells an inspirational story of adversity, courage and hope.

Prague Castle: Introduction and Tickets

This one-hour introductory tour to Prague Castle gives you a quick orientation of the city and its most significant monument. Your guide will meet you in the city centre and will take you the best way to the Castle. After getting the basic overview of its history and presence, just skip the ticket line and explore the impressive interiors of St. Vitus Cathedral, the Old Royal Palace, St. George’s Basilica and the Golden Lane at your own pace!

Prague Castle, the official seat of the President of the Czech Republic, has always been one of the most significant centres of political and ecclesiastical powers in Europe. The monumental residence of Czech monarchs and Holy Roman emperors is also one of the largest castles in the world consisting of a large-scale composition of palaces, churches and other buildings of various age and architectural styles, which makes it the most visited monument in the country.

Meet your guide in the very heart of the city under the Old Town’s tower of Charles Bridge. Start your tour with a romantic stroll across the world-famous medieval bridge. Enjoy a breathtaking panorama of Prague Castle from the river before you rest your feet a bit by taking a tram (ticket not included) and enjoying the beautiful views on the way up to the Castle.

In Prague Castle, the guide will give you a short introduction to the history and presence of the Castle as well as further recommendations for your individual visit. After your questions have been answered, you will get your ticket so that you can explore the Castle’s interiors at your own pace.

First, you can visit St. Vitus Cathedral, a masterpiece of European Gothic architecture. The traditional place of Czech royal coronations became also the burial site of many Czech dukes, kings and even Habsburg emperors. See St. Wenceslas’ Chapel decorated with precious stones – where the national patron saint is buried – with a door with seven locks leading to the Crown Chamber where the Czech Crown Jewels have been kept to this day. Be dazzled by the Art Nouveau stained glass window made by Alfons Mucha and by the huge silver tomb of St. John of Nepomuk.

On the way to the Old Royal Palace do not forget to marvel at the beauty of the Last Judgment Mosaic from 1370s above the southern entrance to the Cathedral. In the medieval palace, stand under the massive vault of the Vladislav Hall where once knightly tournaments on horseback were organized, later also coronation banquets and today the presidential inaugurations. See the window which witnessed the Defenestration of Prague in 1618, a violent overthrow of the Catholic pro-Habsburg government starting the Thirty Years’ War, and enter the old parliamentary room where the Czech nobility met until 1848.

Next, visit St. George's Basilica, the oldest surviving church within the Castle, and admire its Romanesque architecture from 1140s. Here, Benedictine nuns have prayed seven times a day for more than 800 years before their convent – the oldest monastic institution in Bohemia – was abolished in 1782.

Then walk further to enter the picturesque Golden Lane with many tiny houses built for the royal guards in the late 16th century who took care of the adjoining fortification wall with a defence corridor and castle’s towers with prisons and dungeons. The alley got its name from goldsmiths who later moved in its houses and in the early 20th century, it attracted many artists like Franz Kafka who even found a short-term retreat here. In the end, you will be rewarded by one of the best views over the city.

Important information
Please note that the guide will not enter with in the Prague Castle. He will introduce you to the place and share some stories. However, you will have free time inside the Castle to explore it by yourself.

Teplice - Royal Spa City with eGuide

Visit Teplice spa, the oldest spa town in central Europe, a town of aristocracy, emperors and Kings, a town of thousands of stories.

A town where Royal families built their mansions and which was visited by the most prominent artists of the past centuries. In the place of thermal springs, in the region of mysticism associated with the natural phenomenon of boiling water, several civilizations took turns over thousands of years. Visit dozens of sights. During the audioguided tour, you will have a unique opportunity to see the remains of the first Christian martyr St. Clari from the 4th century who became the patron saint of the spa and the sacrament of marriage.

Go through the old town, spa district and beautiful parks by the Humboldt tourist train. Enjoy your free time in luxurious Thermal, where you can bathe in 100% thermal water. Go to the observation tower above the historical center. Visit the exhibitions at the Bartholomeus Gallery in the former Protestant temple. Stop by the sprawling parks and themed cafes or restaurants. Discover the Teplice spa with our mobile app eGuide.

Don’t forget to take your headphones and powerbank!
