Go back in time and let yourself be amazed by Segovia, its aqueduct, the imposing Alcazar and the Cathedral.
On this half-day excursion, we will visit the city of Segovia, located in the neighbouring autonomous community of Castilla y León. We will have the opportunity to visit spectacular sites such as the Roman aqueduct, the imposing Alcazar with its pointed towers and the Cathedral of Segovia.
Starting from Madrid, we will head in the morning to Segovia, a small city that will surprise us from the moment we get off the bus.
The walking tour will begin at the Aqueduct, one of the oldest monuments in Spain. With more than 16 kilometres long, it was built over 2.000 years ago. During the visit, we will discover how it was built, in which no cement was used, as well as the route that the water took to reach Segovia.
Knowing the history of the Aqueduct of Segovia, we will go up towards the Plaza Mayor. We will discover some of the city's monuments, such as the Casa de los Picos, whose façade has 617 granite peaks, or the Plaza Medina del Campo, where you will find the Church of San Martín, built in 1.117, and the Torreón de Lozoya, where you can go up in your free time and from where you will have a breathtaking view of Segovia.
Once we arrive at the Plaza Mayor we will find different monuments that will impress us, such as the Town Hall, the Juan Bravo Theatre and the Cathedral of Segovia, where we will have a complete guided tour of its interior. At the end of the visit to the Cathedral, you will have some free time to enjoy Segovia at your leisure.
At the appointed time, we will meet again at the Plaza Mayor. It will be time to head towards the Alcázar of Segovia, one of the most famous and well-preserved medieval castles in the world. The Alcázar probably reminds you of some Disney castles, as its exterior architecture served as inspiration for some of Walt Disney's films, such as Cinderella's Castle or the Queen's Castle in Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.
