The London Dungeon

The London Dungeon is a uniquely thrilling attraction that will whisk you way back to the capital’s most perilous past. See, hear, feel and (ahem) smell the chillingly amusing characters of the ‘bad old days’ as they come to life before you.

Brave the Tyrant boat ride as you journey down the Thames in the dark to meet your fate. Step inside Sweeney Todd’s infamous barber shop on Fleet Street and let him give your life a short back and sides.

Then tread cautiously through the streets of Whitechapel, as Jack the Ripper could be lurking just around the corner… You probably think you’ll be safe after that but there’s also the small matter of the Plague, a vengeful Henry VIII and his Executioner and the Torturer who would really like to talk to you.

Then, you’ll be sentenced for your crimes (guilty of course) and sent to Newgate Prison to hang, on Drop Dead: Drop Ride to Doom.

If you survive all of that, you’ll round off your journey with a visit to the Dungeon Tavern; hear the latest gossip and share a drink with the locals – your first drink is on the house!

The Garden at Buckingham Palace and Panoramic Open Top Bus Tour

The Garden at Buckingham Palace
Described as a "walled oasis in the middle of London’, the Garden is the largest private garden in the capital and boasts 325 wild-plant species, 30 species of breeding birds, and over 1,000 trees, including 98 plane trees and 85 different species of oak, there is plenty to see and enjoy.

Buckingham Palace’s 39-acre garden fulfils many roles. It is The Queen’s private London garden, but it also plays a key part in the busy calendar of royal events. The most famous of these events are The Queen’s Garden Parties, which, in an average year see around 24,000 guests from all walks of life welcomed into the garden each summer. For over 200 years the garden has been used by the Royal Family for official entertaining and celebratory events.

Explore Buckingham Palace Garden with unique access this summer, and discover for yourself its sights before enjoying a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to picnic with views of the Palace.

The central feature of the garden is the lake, created in the 19th century and originally fed from the overflow from the Serpentine in Hyde Park. Today it is a self-regulating eco-system fed from the Buckingham Palace bore hole. A ‘long-grass policy’ has encouraged the natural lakeside environment to flourish, and the area is now a favourite nesting site for a variety of water birds. The garden provides a habitat for native birds rarely seen in London, including the common sandpiper, sedge warbler and lesser whitethroat.

Other areas of the garden include the 156-metre Herbaceous Border, wildflower meadow and Rose Garden. Structures in the garden include a wisteria-clad summer house, enormous Waterloo Vase made for George IV in Italy, and the Palace tennis court, where King George VI and Fred Perry played in the 1930s.

Coffee Tour

The last 10 years have seen a proliferation of quality coffee shops in London. These new establishments are certainly a step above the sterile clones that plague our high streets and whose lack of atmosphere, service and coffee, leave a bitter taste in the mouths of visitors.

London is quick becoming a city of coffee snobs and it’s about time. For centuries Londoners have burnt, smothered and ignored this magical bean, but all it takes is a little tender loving care in order to extract its true character notes.

That’s exactly what these new, hip hangouts are focusing on: the art and science of coffee. From sourcing and roasting their own beans, to experimenting with different brewing processes, to training baristas who like to think their art degree hasn’t gone to waste by adorning your beverage with hearts, ferns and swans. Join this tour to explore this emerging subculture!

We’ll hear tales of London’s secret subterranean history and the tunnels, frequented by Royals and nobles in times of unrest, plague and fire; while drinking just yards from Henry VIII’s favourite palace (cue pub two!).

Changing of the Guard Ceremony
The epitome of British pomp and military ceremony for which Britain is famous around the world. Elite soldiers from the military have been dutifully guarding the Monarch since 1660. The 7 regiments that guard the monarch, known as the 'Household Division', are so devoted to their duty that they will famously not acknowledge or allow themselves to be distracted by the public.
During the ceremony, immaculately turned out guards are accompanied by marching bands playing a rousing mix of military music, whose origins dates back to the morale-boosting songs played before the British military went into battle.

Others
Due to refurbishment works taking place at Big Ben, you will notice that there is scaffolding covering this iconic site. Refurbishment is set to be completed in 2021
Occasionally there may not be a Changing of the Guard on these occasions we will visit Horseguards Parade. Please note that this is all subject to change and weather dependent
