Costa Brava and Dali - Full Day Tour

On this tour we will visit the coastal area of Girona, named a 100 years ago as Costa Brava. The name is due to its unique rocky, rugged and cut shape coastline, composed of small coves surrounded by pine forests and lapped by crystal water. Later in the afternoon we will have the opportunity to visit de Dalí Museum in Figueras.

We will take the motorway and around 09:45 AM we are going to arrive in Calella de Palafrugell, a small fisherman’s village that still retains today the traditional appearance of the past. It is a village of great beauty in both architecture and landscape. The town, splashed with small bays, becomes a fusion of land and sea that is an incomparable setting. We will have free time to explore the village, enjoy the scenery and for sure, take great photographs.

Later, we will start walking along Camino de Ronda, which is going to lead us to the neighborhood town of Llafranc. We will hike about 30 minutes, suitable for all ages, easy terrain for everyone. The “Camino de Ronda” borders all the Costa Brava and was used to control the maritime smuggling. Today, thanks to this, you can discover beautiful spots that wouldn’t be otherwise accessible. Llafranc is also a small, elegant and captivating seaside town, with all the charms of the towns on this coast.

Back to the bus, we will go to Pals, a town located inland and on the top of a hill. The location is entirely built into an ancient medieval village. The enclosure is crowned with a cylindrical tower from the XII century, visible from far away. It has an excellent terrace that offers stunning views of the Costa Brava and its immediate surroundings. Walking through the cobbled streets you will feel like you have gone back in time. Take time to appreciate the round arches, facades with pointed windows arches and stone balconies, all perfectly restored.

At the fixed time we will go back to the bus to continue our way to Figueres, which is located 30 kilometers away from Girona. In Figueres there is the Dalí Theater-Museum which holds the biggest collection of artwork that represent the artistic evolution of Salvador Dalí from his origins to his latest works that are considered the top of the Spanish surrealism. The heart of the museum is the town's theater that Dalí knew as a child. It was where one of the first public exhibitions of young Dalí's art was shown. The old theatre was burned during the Spanish Civil War and remained in a state of ruin. In 1960, Dalí and the mayor of Figueres decided to rebuild it as a museum dedicated to Dalí. When we arrive to Figueres we will go straight to the Dalí Museum. After a small introduction about the history of the museum and Dali’s live and career, you will be given plenty of free time to explore the museum and also Figueres by yourself. Dine Around Barcelona Food Tour with Montjuic Cable Car Ride

This is a fantastic evening of wining and dining at some of the most authentic eateries in Barcelona: a must for any serious foodie visiting the city who wants to try gourmet versions of some of Spain’s regional specialties.

Your tour starts in the late afternoon when you meet your small group of no more than 15 people and your local, foodie guide in front one of the city’s most beloved local markets. Your first stop is an olive oil shop to taste five different olive oils and learn why it’s considered a superfood in the Mediterranean. Next, you’ll head over to a local Charcutería - the Spanish word for “deli” - that has been feeding the neighborhood for decades. Here you’ll try an assortment of gourmet local cheeses and charcuterie, including chorizo and the famous Iberian ham. You’ll also learn how to drink from a traditional Catalán pitcher called a porró. There’s a knack to it, but don’t worry, your guide will show you how to drink like a true Catalán.

The next stop is a little stand that has been a Barcelona institution since opening in 1920. Here you can get an ice-cold horchata, a sweet drink made from nuts that is beloved throughout Spain and Mexico. We’ll fill up some to-go bottles and march on because there is a lot left to see and taste.

Leaving the neighborhood of Sant Antoni, you’ll enter the vibrant barrio of Poble Sec and make your way down a buzzing pedestrian street to our favorite pintxos bar which specializes in a style of tapas originating in the Basque country. Choose two from their extensive spread and wash them down with a complimentary glass of txakoli, a specialty sparkling wine from the Basque country.

Before heading to your final stop of the night, we have a little surprise. You’ll head to the top of Montjuic for incredible views over the city and sea. As the sun sets, you’ll hop into to a cable car that takes you down from the countain and into the port, before heading - via the beach - over to our favorite paella restaurant, where you’ll feast on steaming plates of paella and tapas with a complimentary drink.

This tour is a great way to taste your way around the Iberian Peninsula without ever leaving Barcelona. It’s the perfect experience for foodies, families, or anyone looking for a fun, delicious and culturally enlightening night out.

Gaudí Houses: Casa Batlló and Casa Milà - Skip the Line

We are located in the area of Barcelona known as Eixample, which means enlargement. That is the name of the urban project made by the Catalan architect Idelfons Cerdà to enlarge the extension of the city outside the ancient city walls and in consequence get better healthy conditions. Passeig the Gracia Street is one of the most important avenues in Barcelona, where apart from prestigious brands shops we can find modernists buildings. At the beginning of the XIX century Passeig the Gracia became the main residential area for the bourgeoisie, who were main commitments of some important modernist architects such as: Gauí, Puig i Cadafalch, Domènech i Montaner or Sagnier. During the tour we will visit two great examples of domestic architecture from Antoni Gaudí. The explanations will be always put in context with the history of Barcelona and in parallel to other works from important modernist architects.

Casa Batlló was projected by Gaudí in the refurbishment of a previous existing building of the architect Emilio Sala Cortés. The building was bought by the business man Josep Batlló, who owned several textile factories in Barcelona. At the time Gaudí was an important architect working in several projects at the same time: The Expiatory Temple of la Sagrada Familia, Torre Bellesguard, Park Güell and the restoration of the Santa Maria Cathedral in Palma de Mallorca. Batlló was so impressive with the Gaudi’s work that he recommended the architect to his friend, Pere Milá. Later we will be able to visit Casa Milà, commonly known as la Pedera. Casa Batlló it’s a great example of how Gaudí got his inspiration from nature using organic shapes that had been previously studied by him.

La Pedrera is located in Passeig de Gracia street chamfer with Provença Street, in the middle of the Eixample. During the industrial growing when the bourgeoisie became the privilege statement, Gaudí was asked to build a house for the Milà family. Pere Milà i Camps was a rich business man who inherited the fortune made by his father from the textile industry. The Milà Project consisted in a flats building where the first floor would be the residence of the Milà family while the other floors would be divided into several apartments for renting. The construction was delayed several times because the building was supposed to be more high and wide than the dimensions fixed by the municipal government. During the guided tour you will visit the two courtyards, the three last floors (rooftop, attic and one apartment) and the temporal exhibition (the availability of this part is subject to the exhibition calendar).

At the end of the visit you will be able to remain in the building as long as you wish.
