One of our favourite locations to visit when leaving Phuket is the Hong Krabi and Krabi Island sets. These islands are typically quieter than the more popular Phi Phi Island or Phang Nga Bay tour but their beauty of them is astounding.

Not only that but one of the best beaches in the entire area is part of the Krabi Islands Private Boat Charter, Lem Haad Beach, which is the beach featured in the movie “The Mechanic” with Jason Statham is located on Koh Yao Yai and is part of any Krabi Island Private Boat Tour we conduct.

Out in the Krabi area, there is also a wonderful Lagoon, only available at certain tide conditions, more than 10 fantastic snorkelling locations (somewhere we can see reef sharks) and quiet beaches.

Phi Phi Island is one of the best-known island locations in the Phuket region, famous for the Leonardo DiCaprio movie “The Beach”.

Some people mistakenly believe that Phi Phi Island is just one Island, when in fact Phi Phi Island is a group of 6 Islands. 5 Of The Islands are the Virgin Islands, they do not have developments or buildings on them other than National Park buildings.

The one island in the Phi Phi Island group which does have developments, hotels, restaurants and bars is Phi Phi Don. This island also has some great snorkelling locations and authentic Thai Restaurants.

The best-known “Beach” in the Phi Phi Island group is Maya Bay. Right now Maya Bay is closed, which means that tourists are not able to walk on the beach at Maya Bay. We can still visit Maya Bay, take an iconic photo and swim off to the side of Maya Bay, walking on the beach is forbidden as is passing a certain marked point.

While this may be disappointing to some, for those people that join us on Private Boat Tours you will discover that closing the bay was one of the best decisions the Thai Government could have made.

Phang Nga Bay is better known as James Bond Island, but we believe it to be a discredit to call the entire bay which has stunning limestone rock formations, hidden lagoons, cave systems and mangroves by the name James Bond Island.

While James Bond Island is famous, the entire bay should be well known as it is one of the most visually stunning locations that you could visit any time of year.

With more limestone rock formations than we care to count Phang Nga Bay can explore for days without running out of unique, beautiful and wonderful places to see. Phang Nga truly is one of nature’s spectacular works of art; where the vast karst rock scenery presents a visually stunning location. In fact, with the sheer number of unique formations, you could explore here for days. However please note this is not for those looking to go snorkelling. This trip is all about the seascapes, canoeing, caving and exploring.

Often when we are out on a private tour our clients will remark to us that Phang Nga Bay reminds them of stepping back into a Jurassic Park movie. We would agree with the comment as the mangroves, caves and limestone rocks do look remarkably similar to the movie sets.

Peaceful vibes, emerald lagoons, and stunning beaches greet you at these 3 small and lesser-known islands. Add in an abundance of impressive snorkeling spots and reefs, and this makes for an extra special day out. The relatively untouched island of Koh Ngai has crystal clear waters, colourful corals and marine life, and thus is a great option to start your private tour for some serious snorkelling.

Koh Mook, which is home to the widely-known Emerald Cave, is aptly named for the light reflecting off the water at the cave entrance creating this emerald hue. It offers visitors the unique experience of swimming through the entrance into its small cave system which leads to a hidden mangrove, (during the right tide). Koh Kradan arguably has the most beautiful and quiet beaches in all of southern Thailand, complete with wonderful coral reefs just near the shore. Usually, this island is only visited by expensive sailing catamarans and yachts.
