You want to meet the gently giants knowing the elephants are treated good – Then you should visit the Elephant Welfare Centre with us! We pick you up at directly in front of your hotel with one of our airconditioned minivans and transfer you to an animal welfare certificated elephant camp.There you can observe the animals in their natural habitat and see them interact with conspecifics, while getting some interesting facts about the life of the Asian elephants. Before getting into the water with the animals, you can make your bathing partner happy by feeding her with bananas. Don’t forget to bring your bathing clothes, because you won’t stay dry in the river with the giants. You can play with them, splash them and cuddle up to them – most important is that you and the elephants are having a great time. During this interactive program you will spend many up-close moments with our rescued elephants, gain in-depth knowledge about their sophisticated means of communication, and learn about their natural habitat and the important role they play as a keystone species in our ecosystem. The program includes joined roundtrip transfers as well as a light breakfast, vegetarian lunch & dinner buffets, and cold drinks and refreshments throughout the day.

Your morning starts with light refreshments and a video presentation on the history and plight of Asian elephants. You will then have an opportunity to feed one of our rescued elephants for breakfast. Next, our tour guide will teach you about the intricate behavioral and communication patterns of elephants before you explore our 30-acre sanctuary to observe our elephants roam, play and bathe freely. The morning ends with a delicious vegetarian Thai lunch.

In the afternoon you will explore the natural habitat of Asian elephants and learn more about their important role as a keystone species in our ecosystem while observing the elephants roam through our jungle. You will then learn about the important role water plays in treating old and injured elephants as you meet some of the gentle giants at the new hydrotherapy pool and observe them enjoying their time in the water.

We start our journey on the water the traditional way – by one of the beautiful decorated Thai longtail boats. We will drive along the green mangrove jungle, which is amongst others habitat of lizards, snakes, monkeys and different bird species.

Passing by a fascinating karst landscape we will reach the worldwide famous James Bond Island, from which you will have the perfect view on the most popular limestone of that area. Ko Tapu, the James Bond Rock, is a common tourist attraction since the release of the movie “The Man with the Golden Gun” with Roger Moore as British secret agent 007.

After a quick stop we will move to a canoe station. There you can lay back and enjoy nature, while an experienced paddle guide will take care of you. He will take you close to hundreds of year old stone formations, to caves and mangroves.
We will continue our tour by visiting a fishing village build on pillars in the water.

The sea nomads living here will warmly welcome you to some tasty Thai lunch. Full and satisfied you can take a short walk to discover the village and culture of the inhabitants. You might also find some nice souvenirs for yourself, family or friends.
Later, we are going back to the mainland and by minivan to Phang Nga Park to round up a beautiful day of culture with a temple and caves.

Sometimes you can also see wild monkeys there.

We will take you to a waterfall, temple, turtle conservation center, Tsunami Memorial Police Boat 813 and lots of fun on the water and wild as well as protected animals await you.

Visit the Tsunami Memorial boat 813, a thai military boat that was brought by the wave into the main land. Learn about the catastrophe that happened in 2004.

Refresh yourself with a ride on the most ancient thai transportation on the river, bamboo rafts. Be attentive to your paddler boy, he might show you wild animals that sleep along the river above you on the tree branches as snakes, monkeys, spiders, monitor lizards etc.

Following, you might be curious about the Queen Turtle conservation center project. We then bring you to the military area, where the turtles are protected and taking care of before being released into the wild.

The river is flowing calmly, passing single jungle huts, ancient trees and other exotic plants. In the trees you might find a sleeping snake and sometimes monkeys are playing close to the water.

Its name is based on eroded caves, which lie in the centre of the island. Well hidden, it shelters a lake with small sea access. The only way inside can be passed during a short time slot (of about 1 hour) and only once a day.

When the tides allow to, one can enter inside the Hong Island by canoe. Otherwise, if there is low tide, the caves are dry and sharp-edged stones as well as mud block the entrance. At high tide the access is completely under water. This little natural wonder makes it even more spectacular.

Besides Hong Island we take you to a cave with bats, another exciting place close to mangrove jungles and limestone carsts. Be one of a few to see the natural beauty deep inside of Phang Nga Bay, as it is a unique experience you definitely should not miss. With a stop at the beautiful restaurant of the fishing village Koh Panyee you can gain back some power by enjoying delicious local food. Furthermore there will be some time to discover the environment.
